Mistakes Happen is developed and published by GFG TECH. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Journal Entries & Notes: Mistake logs, notes, mood check-ins, and severity ratings you create within the App. These are stored locally on your device by default.
• App Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about which features you use (e.g., breathing exercises, logging frequency) to help us improve the App. This data does not identify you personally.
• Purchase Information: If you subscribe to Mistakes PRO, your purchase is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment details.
• Device Information: Basic device data (OS version, app version, crash reports) collected to maintain app stability.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the core features of the App (logging, breathing, insights).
• To process PRO subscription upgrades and restore purchases.
• To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the App experience.
• To display relevant advertisements to free-tier users (see Section 6).
• To respond to support requests or inquiries you submit to us.

4. Data Storage & Security

All personal journal entries, mood logs, and notes are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your journal content to our servers. GFG TECH does not have access to the content of your entries.

PRO users who enable the Private Vault can protect their entries with a 4-digit PIN stored securely in the device's local storage using platform-standard encryption.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any data that is transmitted to our servers (e.g., anonymous analytics).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share limited information with:

• Analytics Providers: Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics with providers such as Firebase Analytics to understand app performance.
• Crash Reporting: Anonymized crash logs may be shared with tools like Crashlytics to improve stability.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request, we may disclose information as required.

6. Advertising

The free version of Mistakes Happen may display third-party advertisements served by ad networks such as Google AdMob. These providers may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads relevant to your interests.

Upgrading to Mistakes PRO removes all advertisements entirely.

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

7. Children's Privacy

Mistakes Happen is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@gfgtech.app.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of any data we hold about you.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data from our systems. Note: local data (journal entries) is under your full control and can be deleted by uninstalling the App.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential data collection via app settings.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., app store pages). This Privacy Policy does not cover third-party practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
